A little about me —

I have been sewing for over 30 years. My mother taught me to sew when I was about 12 years old. I made my first dress shortly thereafter and have been sewing ever since!

About Me
Costuming

Costuming was my forte —

Now that I knew how to sew, I could dress like anybody I wanted and costuming became  my passion. The first costume I recall constructing was something akin to Barbara Eden's outfit from "I Dream of Jeannie".  In my 20's I discovered belly dancing and my cabaret outfits were adorned with coins and beads.  In my 30's I discovered the Society for Creative Anachronism which deals with medieval costuming.  In my 40's I discovered Islam and had a whole new field of clothing design to explore!

Cross Stitch —

After searching the internet for free Islamic cross stitch patterns a few years ago, I discovered that there wasn't a heck of a lot of stuff available. I decided to make my own page. I figured, if I was looking for free stuff, then so was someone else. Since I have done this, free Islamic patterns sites have been springing up all over the place mash 'Allah.
